These historic reservoirs were built for mining. Channels and water systems supplied power to technical installations. Today the reservoirs are a distinctive part of the landscape around Banská Štiavnica, closely connected to its cultural heritage.
Time beside the water
Počúvadlianske jazero and the Veľká and Malá Richnava reservoirs are well known destinations nearby. A lakeside walk, a quiet break or an outing with friends can suit different seasons. Swimming and other activities depend on local rules, weather and current conditions.
Towards Sitno
Sitno is a prominent peak of the Štiavnické vrchy. Marked routes lead towards the summit from the Počúvadlo area, among other starting points. Views, rocks and scenery make the trip rewarding. Stay on permitted trails and follow nature protection rules.
Find your own pace
Our suggestion for a relaxed day: a morning walk by a lake, followed by a break in town. Longer hikes need their own planning and suitable equipment. These ideas are suggestions, not services included with an apartment purchase.
